Hash #961 – Christmas

Hash #961Hash #961 our Christmas Hash was held on Christmas Eve at the bar in Dragon’s Bay, Moliniere, St George. The Bling Ting Crew set two trails for us (or did they?)

The trails started off with a false trail, so half the group started off on the return route and to add even more confusion to the trail, the runners and walkers split had been turned into a large blob of paper, so no-one was aware of what trails they were actually on! Even with all the confusion, the trails were splendid with lots of bush, hills, wonderful views and extra slippery muddy slopes.

Hash #961The Christmas after hash lime was  turned out fabulously and the DJ kept the party going with a wide variety of music. Lots of hashers dressed up in their red and Santa outfits and accessories, even the hash dogs played their part.

The hashers were given free food as a special Christmas treat. The bar could not keep up with the hungry & thirsty hashers and a few helpful people did help out behind the bar for a while. Thank-you Doggy Style, Sat Nav, Cheap Fares and Bling Ting for assisting.

Santa Clause made a brief appearance but I do no think the hashers had been tat well behaved this year as his sack of presents was still pretty full when he left! A bottle of rum and hashing gloves were prizes given out to the best dressed Mr & Ms Santa. and birthday wishes and Carib’s were awarded to John & Mona for their 67th and 21st birthdays.

Thank-you Bling Ting and your crew for putting on another great hash. Wishing all Grenada Hashers a safe and happy festive season and all the best for the new year.

Hash #960

Hash #960Hash #960 was held  at the Deslyn Lewis’ Residence, Montreuil, St. Patrick near Mt Rich  clean fresh country air and spectacular hills, bush and rivers. The hare for the hash was Crisis who lived up to his hash name for the runners trail!

Crisis set two trails, a walkers and runners with a bit of a muddy slope for everyone to climb at the beginning – the recent deluge of rain the previous few days did add to the excess of muddy ground.

The runners trail took you up to the top of a ridge and then a rope climb/sllde down the slope to the clean clear river from the Glenec spring. The Silkwood tree that the rope was attached to had a trunk the size of a small house (a few hundred years old).

Hash #960Smiley was welcomed back to the hash with a few Caribs – one at the start of the hash for bright orange new shoes and another after the hash for being away for so long!

A good variety of food was provided at the end of the hash, along with music & beers! Thanks Crisis for a lovely trail!

Hash #959

Hash #959Hash #959 was held in the pasture in Mt Airy, St Pauls. The hares for the hash Dominatrix and Cow Tail set two trails (a runners and a walkers) each with river crossings.

Both trails started off through some lovely bush areas, across a few rivers and included lots of steep downhill slopes .

Unfortunately what goes down must come up and after the last river crossing we exited the bush and headed uphill for what felt like ages along the road that took us through a cemetery and back to the venue.

Hash #959Commando our current hash mistress announced that she will be stepping down next month and handing the reins over to Bush Blackberry (Brian Steele).  We hope all of you make an effort to come to the hash on the 7th January 2017 for the Big Bamboo Ceremony to hand over the hash mistress/master position.

Music, drinks and slightly delayed food caused for some very interesting photo’s at the after hash lime. A good time was had by all – thank-you hares for your effort and to the hashers that always participate with such enthusiasm and a whole lot of misbehaving!

Hash #958

Hash #958Hash #958 was held at Travellers Bar, Grand Mal in St George’s and a super trail was set by the whole Bling Ting Crew (Jahwise, Rear Entry, Wrong Erection, John, Back Door , Slow Cum  and Danny).

In what is becoming a signature move with the Bling Ting Hares, they stood at the start point Travellers Bar” turned around in a full circle and looked for the absolute highest point they could find and said – yes – we will hash up there!

Hash #958The hash started off with a hill that almost reached the heavens and then the sneaky hares caught all the FRB’s out with having a false trail off a false trail – which made for a whole lot of extra hard running to gt back in front. The rest of the uphill climb was through lovely dense bush and once you got to the absolute top of the hill, the hares had laid two side trails for everyone to enjoy the scenic views.

The downhill was probably a trickier trails for most as there was lots of slippery mud, but this was more than made up for by the fantastic trails through the bush and over river stones. There was photographic evidence that quite a few hashers unintentionally slid down the muddy slopes on their rear ends!

Monkey Business almost lost a few of his virgin hashers (again) but luckily they ambled back in at around 6pm – before it got dark. Food, drink, music and muddy and sweaty hashers all enjoyed the after hash lime.

Thank-you Bling Ting Crew for another super hash!

Hash #957

Hash #957Hash #957 was held at the Providence Junction in St, David’s and two lovely  trails were set though this lush jungle terrain by our Hash Mistress Commando, Girl Guide and Saber Tooth.

The rain the previous evening and that morning ensured that all hashers shoes and a few rear ends were covered in mud. Both trails were at least 90% bush and the runners trail had 4 river crossings through the lovely clear waters – which you needed just to give your hands a quick wash after scrambling and sliding up and down the slippery mud slopes.

Commando already in the Christmas spirit had a beer/water stop halfway through the hash  – Thanks Annie – that was a pleasant surprise for all the hashers!

Hash #957 We had a few visiting hashers from the UK and they said they enjoyed the GH3 hash so much that they will be coming back for our 1000th hash next year.

DJ Garvin provided the music and luckily the rain held off for the rest of the day and evening, so hashers could enjoy their food, drinks and lime.

Hash #956

Hash #956Hash #956 was held at Cool Breeze Bar, St George – next to the National Stadium and was changed from what was going to be a night hash to  regular 3:30pm hash due to a challenging trail.

The hares Bling Ting, Rear Entry, Wrong Erection and the rest of the “Bling Crew” made sure we had some wonderful views on both he runner and walkers trails.

I think the hares stood at the location, looked around them at all the hills and mountains – found the absolute highest point they could and said – perfect – we will hash up there!

Hash #956So we hashed up the great uphill trail to the highest point (with wonderful views) and when we got back down to sea-level – the trail made a left turn and we hashed right on up another great hill!

Lovely bush trails, with shade which was needed as the day was really humid and hot after the mornings rain.  Good music, food, drinks and dozens of sweaty muddy hashers are all the ingredients required for a great after hash lime.

Thanks Bling Ting and Crew for a wonderful hash & lime!

Hash #955

Hash #955Hash #955 was held at Velma’s Shop, Windsor Forest in St David and 2 wonderful trails were set by “Respect D Banana“.

The weather added extra excitement and challenges to the already muddy and slippery trail when the heavens opened and rain poured down on most hashers that were still on the trail.

It was probably one of the coolest hashes we have had in a long time and everyone enjoyed the trails. Somehow our expert hare managed to set a trail with more downhills than uphills – lets see if anyone else knows how to repeat that impossibility!

Two disasters were avoided, the first being they almost ran out of Stag – this was quickly rectified by bringing in an emergency supply! The second was finding a missing hasher in the dark and rain – thanks to the hare and volunteer hashers that assisted in the rescue.

Dietmar Hash #955Dietmar finally received a hash name this hash after he was noticed repeatedly falling and slipping and each time saying “Oh Shit”. He received the German version of that saying and will from hereon be known as “Scheisse” and I’m sure he will carry his new name with pride.

Thank-you Resect D Banana for two great trails and another fantastic hash.

Hash #954

Hash #954Hash #954 was held at Chickie’s Bar, New Hampshire, St, George’s, so we had some really lovely countryside and bush available.

The hare Girl Guide (Jamar) made full use of every hill and slope to create what some hashers were calling an “endurance” runners trail!

The runners trail was fantastic, with lots of scrambling up steep hills and sliding down muddy slopes and at times it felt like we did most of the trail at a 45 degree angle. Dogs were pushed up the really steep slopes and quite a few hashers took the easy way down some of  the muddy slopes (on their rear ends)!

The walkers had an easy trail – too easy and short for some of them and a few serious walkers did the walkers trail twice.

Unfortunately for Jamar, he received a down down for the too short walkers trail and for Doggy Style spraining her ankle on his trail (which she managed to do on the only non slippery flat section of the trail).

954bCommando our hash mistress, Jawise and quite a few other hashers with birthdays in November, all received their birthday Carib’s. The after hash lime was enjoyed by all, with lots of dancing, good food, drinks and music.

Thanks Girl Guide – it was definitely a trail to remember!

Hash #953 – Halloween

Our Halloween hash this year was held in Corrinth and was a night hash  with not much moon, so it was suitably dark and scary. The hares Wrong Erection, Jahwise, John and the rest of the Bling team did a fine job setting an easy 1 trail route through the bush, compete with a few dead bodies and scary monsters popping out at unexpected times.

Lots of the hashers came dressed up in their scary Halloween outfits and a competition was held at the end for the best costume – it was impossible for the audience to choose one great costume and after a dance-off (where the hash mistress showed us her stuff) – the prizes were shared between a few scary contestants.

Chearvon was awarded her hash name of “Cheap Fares” – for the terrible crime of getting a lift in a car back to the end of the hash after she had finished her job of popping out and scaring hashers during the trail.

Thanks to the hares for organising a good hash and to all the hashers that came to celebrate Halloween together.

Hash #952 – Rum Runner

Rum Runner Hash startSometimes a new idea turns out to be a fabulous experience that must be repeated annually. So it was for our 1st Rum Runner hash!

A group of 250 hashers boarded the Rum Runner on Saturday afternoon and travelled to a secret location for a hash. The boat finally stopped at BBC beach and after a quick briefing from the hares, hashers poured down the gangway onto the beach to the familiar war cry of On On.

Rum Runner arriving at beach

The hash was short but with some killer hills thrown in just so we could all admire the views. Food, drinks and a wonderfully cool beach swim were all waiting for us after the hash.

After a brief lime at BBC beach, hashers returned to The Rum Runner and we spent an enjoyable couple of hours having a hash party on board while the boat cruised the coastline of Grenada.
